Help converting performQuery to new get API

I'm having such a hard time converting my old performQuery to the new get function. Here is what I had in the old performQuery where I would get the count of the total affiliate clicks:

$analyticsData = Analytics::performQuery(
    Period::years(1),
    'ga:totalEvents,ga:uniqueEvents',
    [
        'metrics'    => 'ga:totalEvents,ga:uniqueEvents',
        'dimensions' => 'ga:eventCategory,ga:eventAction,ga:eventLabel',
        'filters'    => "ga:eventLabel==" . $aff->affiliate_code . ";ga:eventAction==Referral Link Clicked",
    ]
);

$totalEvents = $analyticsData->totalsForAllResults['ga:totalEvents'];
$uniqueEvents = $analyticsData->totalsForAllResults['ga:uniqueEvents'];

I've been trying my best to convert it to the new get, but am so lost on how to do it correctly.
I will post what i have so far, but it's still not close:
