How to user this package with spatie/multitenancy ?

I'm trying to do a search like this on a model that UsesTenantConnection. Each eloquent operation works just fine and connects to the tenant database as intended. But if i try to run this:

(new Search)->registerModel(MyModel::class, 'state')->search('open');

I get

Database connection [default] not configured.

Seems like this package is ignoring the LANDLORD/TENANT configuration somewhow. How can i get this sorted?
