How to be added as a maintainer?

I'm hoping to be added as a maintainer to the https://github.com/stm32-rs/stm32l4xx-hal project? It has a few low-stakes PRs that just need a bit of review and can be merged. Is there a process?

It would be helpful if it was documented in this repository what the process is for joining the community, and/or any other locations the community chats (e.g., Discord).
