Yeah, it is fun, but unfortunately it seems to be quite finicky and can give wrong results unless the users use it in certain way or do not verify by their own eyes if the results are realistic. See e.g. #6256 where it will mostly get disabled by default. 🤷♂️
Do you have experience with any such apps measuring stair steps, and are you happy with their accuracy @maxburto? The ones I've encountered are only of pedometer-type, but those were IMHO not very good for counting step_count=*. We want to know only number of stair steps (i.e. physical steps-going-up-or-down), and not a number of times you've only moved your legs to go forward (i.e. how many steps you've taken) which is what usually gets counted by accelerometers in my experience. IOW, imagine an OSM way tagged But if the platforms are frequent (when it is even less likely the way would be micromapped), e.g. like here, then the errors would be huge (easily 200-300% errors!) and the data problematic to say the least.
While my city might have somewhat less steps, I'm not sure if a counting app would help more then distract. If anything, precisely counting the steps in my mind helps me conquer the bigger flights of stairs. 😅 |

I love that you have integrated that road width measuring app. I would love to see the same integration with a simple stair step measuring app. I live in a city with lots of municipal staircases (Seattle) and it would be helpful to have an app help me count the steps.
