Code only project on Linux fails to run

Hi,

I have followed the steps here to setup a code only project on Linux (Manjaro).

Everything worked fine until I tried to run the project. There I got the following exception:

System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load shared library 'dxgi.dll' or one of its dependencies.

As the code only project setup seems to be focused on windows, are there any missing steps I have to take for running it on Linux?

Yes, There is a special msbuild property called StridePlatform. Set it to Linux

Setting the graphics API explicitly to OpenGL did something. I added all suggested properties to the C# project file. However I am still running into issues. Apparently I forgot to add Stride.Core.Assets.CompilerApp as an additional dependency due to not using the Stride.CommunityToolkit.Windows package initially. Now the build fails with the following error. At this point it seems that "code only" only works on Windows after all. I'm not sure from where I got the impression that code only would work on Linux.

Happy to help :). CompilerApp is just a program that runs on dotnet build if wasn't previously run. His job is to process all the assets like images,sound,scripts etc into single (or many for dlc's if you want) bundle. I noticed that CompilerApp was executed on Linux but you cannot do it right now, because it is still work in progress feature (Im currently testing this feature!)- though, due to my work should be possible to compile at least basic assets :)
Tdlr: compile your project on windows with mentioned flags and try to run on Linux.
Stride engine repository contains also my latest changes that enables to compile at least "basic" types of assets so if you are inpatient for next release you can build from source code nuget packages yourself :)

Thanks again for the help. I might try building Stride myself then. Is there any developer/architectural documentation?

I did some tests as well, with the <PackageReference Include="Stride.CommunityToolkit" Version="1.0.0-preview.44" /> package.

With this

I can build just dotnet build. No errors here.

dotnet run works also ok for this code which does nothing (still it is a progress!!):

When I add camera. I get this error.

"Could not compile shader."

Not sure if that helps, I added also <PackageReference Include="Stride.Core.Assets.CompilerApp" Version="4.2.0.2230" IncludeAssets="build;buildTransitive" /> and then I get this error

@VaclavElias Sometimes msbuild fails to move libraries to lib folder. Try to copy libbulletc.so to $HOME/.nuget/packages/stride.core.assets.compilerapp/4.2.0.1/lib/net8.0 folder

You can get libbullet.so from deps folder in source code or from Stride.Physics package

@VaclavElias About shaders, this is I was struggle with all the time. Seems stride tries translate hlsl instructions into glsl and it's not quite working well :/
