Steps to reproduce:

  1. add (edit-server-start) to your config file, so it loads on Emacs startup
  2. restart your computer with no apps open
  3. start emacs prior to starting up a browser
  4. Notice you can't enter any text in anything.

Expected

  1. can enter text wherever, computer remains usable.

Version info:

GNU Emacs 27.2 (build 1, x86_64-apple-darwin18.7.0, Carbon Version 158 AppKit 1671.6) of 2021-03-27
