Is a backup compatible with different versions of the app

Is a tar backup backward compatible with different versions of the app for example 0.119.0-beta.3 and 0.118.3 stable? I ask because something updated to the beta when I had not enabled beta.

(But do not backup and swap between Google Play Termux and F-Droid Termux, that won't work. Only between versions of F-Droid Termux)

Why doesn't Play work with F-Droid are they different emulators?

It is because their packages are built differently, and Google Play Termux, for example, has packages and APK both built with a higher Android API level than the packages and APK of F-Droid Termux.

If certain special packages from F-Droid Termux are used inside the APK of Google Play Termux, or vice versa, like for example the packages termux-exec and libandroid-glob, then they will often not work and something will go wrong.
