When I did some research, it appears that the official TurboVNC does not actually support H.264, at least from this issue that I found where they discussed the challenges of H.264 in VNC but did not mention a complete solution. My research indicates that the H.264 mode of TigerVNC viewer was designed for use with the VNC server "PiKVM", not TurboVNC: https://docs.pikvm.org/vnc/#configuring-the-client I'm not sure, but I imagine that PiKVM is probably only compatible with Raspberry Pi, not Android. Did you have a specific fork or special branch of TurboVNC in mind that you think would support H.264? |

The title says it all. Right now the only VNC server that Termux has is TigerVNC. While it is good for what it is, what if we could get even better performance? TigerVNC viewer supports H.264. The only server I know that can provide such codec is TurboVNC. TurboVNC is all about speed, as the name suggests.
The developers of TurboVNC do not try to compete with TigerVNC as these solutions have a bit different purposes and directions. So why not include them both in the repo?
