Relies on /proc/stat which is restricted on Android. CPU stats won't work without SELinux permissive or root.

Ah, I see. Therefore Termux packaging depends on issue 235.

Should I keep this issue open until issue 235 is fixed?

PS: How is htop circumventing this? Or does this work differently?

htop v2.x silently fails displaying 0% CPU usage. Memory is seems shown correctly. htop v3.x has been moved to root packages repository.

Totally offtopic but I just checked and this is indeed the first time that I recognized that CPU usage isn't shown in htop. 🤯
I like this solution since all other data is perfectly available. 👍

But this means that htop will always be outdated now on non rooted systems right?

If anyone is interested, I successfully built my fork of https://github.com/stevenxxiu/termux_btop_git, which adds a command to copy process commands.

I'm not too sure how to write to the clipboard using Termux API though. You can set the command to anything, like writing to a text file.

[EDIT] The following allows copying to clipboard, when root is run using the correct environment variables:

#* Command to copy to the system clipboard. Clipboard contents are piped into stdin.
copy_command = "termux-clipboard-set"
