Where are we? Still useful?

Found extra Mini at home. Otherwise there 4 of them in the house. Purchased the PCB and installed one on the spare Mini. Tinkered with it and installed numerous firmware, but at that time none worked as desired. So my other 4 minis are still with Google board and working daily to command my Home Assistant, play music over cast and tell me the outside temperature.

Now after few months I have it sitting here next to my PC doing nothing. I can see in PR a v2 refactor of code. Will that be the best we can use for the current PCB? Will this make it to production and is safe to install? Are there alternatives? I wish to use it with my Home Assistant as local AI to handle voice commands.

Everybody wishes the same. However, stuff broke very badly in software at some point and, so far, nobody has come up with a solution.

I don't have an answer to your question, other than "not yet".
