Clarify when & why mods are temporarily unavailable (manual review system) #1009
Comments
Are you referring to this mod, Jewelcrafting? It seems visible on the site and within r2modman to me, do you have any other examples? My experience with mods disappearing and reappearing (displaying as "Page not found") has been with the mod LCRemoteTerminal, and when I asked the author, they told me it was because they were using UniversalLib to make their UI. It may be possible that mods get hidden, either by the author or thunderstore staff, for a short time so their authors can fix issues? |
Hey, what you're seeing is likely some mods being flagged for manual review via automation or moderators, during which they are temporarily unavailable. The tooling in use here is still fairly new and we're working on making it less destructive & more clear in regards to what's happening. The main problem is that right now we don't have a way to flag an individual version for manual review without also impacting the entire package's visibility. Once that's been sorted out, you can expect to see more clarity focused improvements to better inform why a mod is unavailable and if it's temporary or not (at least in the cases where that can be done). |
Okay, this makes sense. I'll keep in mind not to panic next time i see this
happen. Hopefully the system continues to improve, thunderstore has been
incredibly useful when it comes to assembling modpacks and packing Valheim
full of content for my friends and family to enjoy. Thanks for the
explanation, i appreciate it.

early this morning, around 2am, a whole bunch of popular mods, including jewelcrafting, disappeared from thunderstore and r2modman, which i downloaded just to see if that'd fix the issue. not sure what's going on here, or if there's a backup repo for these mods, as quite a few people use them for modlists.
