Implement a different backend or ability to cluster

This is more of a "what if" issue.

How possible would it be to reach multi-instance ability?

That could be done by either adding the ability to choose a different KV backend (redis for example) or implementing some kind of clustering in reindeer.

I understand that both would mean MASSIVE work, I'm just asking your thoughts on the above

Hum, I believe adding an ability to change the backend would not be super-hard, it would require adding an abstraction over the Sled Db struct, maybe using some kind of boxed Trait object. What would be a bit trickier would be the support for async. Right now Reindeer is 100% sync, which is kindda fine since the goal is to have super fast ser/deser and reading/writing on disk.

So for clustering, well, having it at the KV level would surely be a lot easier, since the plumbing required to have efficient clustering directly at reindeer level would be far beyond the ambitions of this library 😅
