Set up infomaniak.com and other DD-WRT providers

Hey there,

changelog for 2.11.0 mentions, that there are many more providers now:

New DDNS providers from DD-WRT, courtesy of Sebastian Gottschall:

After getting the providers with:
inadyn --list-providers --json

I found my provider Infomaniak:

Following that example I configure the inadyn.conf like this:

    checkip-path   = /
    ddns-server    = infomaniak.com

    hostname       = auth.freyler.eu
}

I do get those errors though:

inadyn[1]: Retrying with built-in 'default', http://ifconfig.me/ip ...
inadyn[1]: Failed to get IP address for custom, giving up!
inadyn[1]: Update forced for alias auth.freyler.eu, new IP# 
inadyn[1]: STOP command received, exiting.
inadyn[1]: In-a-dyn version 2.12.0 -- Dynamic DNS update client.
inadyn[1]: Failed resolving hostname auth.freyler.eu: Name does not resolve
inadyn[1]: Communication with checkip server checkip.dyndns.com failed, run again with 'inadyn -l debug' if problem persists

Any help on setting this up is greatly appreciated.

Use provider keyword for DDNS providers we have native support for, not custom.

In the end, this was sufficient, it only took my provider a while to roll out my newly created dyndns subdomain. Thank you.

@troglobit Thanks, that was an important hint. Still, I cannot get this up and running in Docker.
I built this compose file:

services:
  inadyn:
    container_name: inadyn
    volumes:
      - /home/michael/inadyn/etc/inadyn.conf:/etc/inadyn.conf
    image: troglobit/inadyn:latest

networks: {}

and this inadyn.conf which is located on the docker host.
my opinion is, that I correctly bind mounted it into the container, but still, I get the error 74 from Inadyn, the config file must be missing.

this is my updated config:

period = 300

    username       = michael
    password       = pass
    checkip-server = checkip.dyndns.com
    checkip-path   = /

I never use Inadyn from a docker myself, so I cannot help there.

Okay, at least, I got one step further by excluding the update-server and path.
But now, i get Error 48:

inadyn[1]: Error code 48: DDNS server response not OK

Try running with -l debug to get more output.

It does work occasionally, but more often, I do get this errors:

inadyn  | inadyn[1]: Communication with checkip server checkip.dyndns.com failed, run again with 'inadyn -l debug' if problem persists
inadyn  | inadyn[1]: Retrying with built-in 'default', http://ifconfig.me/ip ...
inadyn  | inadyn[1]: SSL handshake with ifconfig.me failed: An unexpected TLS packet was received.
inadyn  | inadyn[1]: Failed to get IP address for [email protected], giving up!
