This is unusual, and I've found the bug because I have a less known french variant keyboard layout, named "Bépo". In "Bépo" the alt gr + spacebar keys gives the underscore character (_). But in NextSpace alternate + spacebar is the default shorcut for switching layouts and alternate is mapped to alt gr.
Is it possible to chek at startup if shortcut interfere with keyboard layout ?

@zeroheureAlternate is mapped to Super key. Is alt gr mapped to Super in Xorg for your keyboard layout? I need more information to find best solution.
After all, you can change switching layout shortcut in "Keyboard Preferences" layout section.
