Tux is Too Slow for Falling Fish Even If You Type the Word

My little girl was doing her typing practice yesterday and she's up to the hardest difficulty in the falling fish game. As it turns out, even if she successfully types the words Tux can fail to catch a fish if he's on the other side of the screen, causing the fish to splat on the ground and take a life away from her even though she typed the word successfully. Perhaps some modification to the Tux animation timing would be helpful; perhaps Tux could have a net or something to reach out and grab fish that are far away.

I was just thinking about that issue as I watched my little sister play. Although I have not actually seen tux be too slow.

From what I see, I think Tux already moves quite fast, especially if we imagine a scenario in which there are two fish on either side of the map, both the same height. If tux gets to one fish, the other fish may already be past tux head (or very close to this) and even if we have a dynamic speed for tux it may be too late. I think at that point, short of teleporting there's little that can be done.

Thus, my proposition:

Either,

Tux can run off one side of the screen, and enter at the other side.

Or;

We refine the fish generation location algorithm so that it never generate fish at an impossible distance.

Personally, I think using the latter combine with dynamic speeds for tux would be quite cool.
