Ignore file permission differences in diff update etc.?

Many files that I track with chezmoi are changed by other applications (not by me directly), this is also true for the permissions of these files. I noticed that chezmoi does not only keep track of the contents of the tracked files but (for my use case) annoyingly also of the permissions. Which means see I permission changes as diffs:

~ chezmoi diff
Δ .config/tmux/scripts/chezmoi-git-status (mode 100770 ⟶   100775)

This also impacts other commands like update:

~ chezmoi update
Already up to date.
.config/tmux/scripts/chezmoi-git-status has changed since chezmoi last wrote it?
> diff/overwrite/all-overwrite/skip/quit

My question is, how do I ignore file permission differences in chezmoi completely? These files keep popping up over and over again; it's getting quite annoying when I do a diff or update.

I am on Linux. chezmoi version v2.67.0.

Permissions are important, which is why chezmoi manages them.

Which programs, exactly, are changing the permissions of files managed by chezmoi?
