Hey guys, I am Abhiram a sophomore at NITT, My primary domain is devOps, other than that I mainly work in backend, cybersecurity, and Blockchain. I really like the philosophy behind open source and decentralization but due to prior commitments I was not able to work on them during my first year but now I have been active in the open source community for the past 7 to 8 months, other than that right now I am actively working with my club to improve my collage tech infrastructure and building a project for a startup that's being incubated by NTU Singapore. I look forward to contributing to the University of Alaska Anchorage Open Source Project and would love to get in touch with Project Mentors and fellow contributors. |

Why Alaska? Skills I Bring: Python (scripting, basic ML workflows) Relevant Work: Blockchain + Quantum Key Distribution Research: Researched making food supply chains quantum-proof against threats – in direct alignment with Alaska's interest in tamper-proof systems. AI for Deepfake Detection: Trained a CNN model to detect synthetic media (still a WIP, but looking forward to developing ML skills with projects like Wildfire Prediction or Coastline Extraction!) Project Interests:
Beyond Code I'd Love To: Talk about how I can assist in overcoming quantum-resistant cryptography issues in your projects I am Looking forward to learning and expanding with this community! |

Hi everyone! I'm Jasmine Thompson, a Python programmer who recently completed a Masters in Mathematics at the University of Exeter. I came across GSoC from a friend's recommendation and became interested in the idea [2] Support for Logarithmic Number Systems in a Deep-Learning Framework due to it having crossover with my linear algebra knowledge and similarity to my dissertation project where I had to implement and compare Gaussian Processes and Bayesian Neural Networks and compare their ability to capture uncertainty. I have a background in data analysis, data visualisation, Python programming and machine learning. Looking forward to getting involved and collaborating! |

Hello everyone! My name is Marc Nahas, and I’m a student developer passionate about the intersection of technology, neuroscience, and public health. I’m excited to contribute to the open-source community through Google Summer of Code 2025 and was immediately drawn to the mission and work of this organization. During my time working with the Bain Exercise Initiative, a club I run, I developed the concept for an app called Cognix, focused on supporting individuals impacted by Alzheimer's disease. Through that experience, I realized how powerful code can be in transforming an idea into a meaningful, real-world tool. That realization led me to GSoC. The vision is to build a customizable, research-aligned, open-source platform that supports users, families, and caregivers in navigating cognitive decline — with potential extensions into clinical research and digital therapeutics. I’m particularly interested in exploring how this project might fit within the broader goals of Alaska in terms of neuroscience, especially around digital health, cognitive assessment, or open data integration. I’d love to collaborate with mentors and contributors to either integrate Cognix with an existing tool or contribute modules that align with ongoing research. Please let me know if you think this idea fits within the scope of GSoC here. I’d love to connect, learn from the community, and shape Cognix into something that can make a real difference through open collaboration. Looking forward to working with you all! Warmly! |

Hi everyone, I’m Arham, a senior at VIT pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I’ve gained solid theoretical understanding in AI and have extensive hands-on experience applying these concepts in large-scale projects. I’ve had the opportunity to work at a top-tier startup backed by IIT Delhi, where I focused on utilizing cutting-edge technology to develop products for the government. With over 20 months of experience as a developer, I’ve honed my technical skills and project expertise. What really drives me is my passion for creating solutions that can make a difference, and that’s why I’m excited to contribute to Alaska and the incredible projects you’re working on. On a personal note, one of my all-time favorite books is Looking for Alaska, which makes the opportunity to work here even more meaningful to me. |

Project Repository: AK-Satellite-Imagery-Wildfire-Prediction Hello mentors and contributors 👋, I'm Mrityunjay Kukreti, and I’m excited to share my GSoC 2025 proposal: “Alaska Wildfire Prediction Using Satellite Imagery.” This project aims to improve early wildfire detection by integrating multi-modal data—optical (Sentinel-2), SAR (Sentinel-1), thermal (MODIS/VIIRS), and weather data (ERA5/NOAA)—into a hybrid CNN-LSTM model. The goal is to classify regions into risk categories (High, Moderate, None) and visualize predictions via a web-based GIS dashboard for broader accessibility and practical use. Highlights of My Approach: 📌 Why This Project? I would really appreciate your feedback on: The proposed model architecture (CNN-LSTM hybrid) Integration of SAR and weather data GIS dashboard and visualization tools Any existing baseline or evaluation datasets you recommend Looking forward to your suggestions and excited about the opportunity to work together on this project. Thank you for your time and consideration! Warm regards, |
