I had the new translation feature working nicely in a setup with CakePHP 2.4.10. Then I upgraded CakePHP to 2.6.13 and things turned a bit weird: just the first letter of any translated string was displayed. See attached screenshot:
Things look good again after reverting to the old CakePHP.
Does Cake need me to do some kind of magical incantation to active the translation? I have been looking through old notes and emails, but have not been able to find anything relevant.
(I'll see if i can do a PR to document the translation process once I figure this out.)
