Removing papers

Could we remove some of the files in papers to reduce the size of this template repo?

Or ideally make the template more generic. Let me know what you think and I would be happy to open a PR!

That sounds like a good idea @natashamm more generic than a clone of Frank's would help people get started quicker. I am happy to take a PR on this
