[bazzite-dx] Steam Big Picture (Wayland) session issues

in SDDM login screen there are 3 sessions available:

• Steam Big Picture (Wayland)
• Steam Big Picture (Wayland)
• Plasma

Not sure why Steam Big Picture (Wayland) is duplicated, but both selection works.

Selecting Steam Big Picture session would launch Steam in full screen similar to the game mode in SteamOS and bazzite-deck image.

Currently I have observed issues only happening in this mode, but not in bazzite-deck image:

1. Select side menu -> Power -> Restart Steam would cuase crash (entire screen is frozen)
2. Select side menu -> Power -> Switch to desktop would get stuck and never leave the session (I can still open side menu in this state).
3. Hitting power button would shutdown the machine instead of put it to sleep.

These issues haven't been previously reported in bazzite-dx or related projects. The duplicate "Steam Big Picture (Wayland)" sessions in SDDM are usually caused by multiple or conflicting .desktop files—check both /usr/share/xsessions and /usr/share/wayland-sessions for duplicates.

For the session problems (crash on restart, stuck on switch to desktop, shutdown instead of sleep), these could be due to differences in session scripts or power management configs between bazzite-dx and bazzite-deck. There are some reports of freezes and memory leaks in Wayland sessions, especially with NVIDIA drivers, which might be related to your crash/freeze issue, though not specific to this session mode [source].

To help debug, could you share: the contents of the relevant .desktop files, SDDM logs, and journal logs from around the time of the crash or freeze? Comparing session scripts between bazzite-dx and bazzite-deck might also reveal differences. Let me know if you need help locating any of these files.
