Various UI rendering issues potentially related to accessibility settings

Is there an existing issue for this?

• I have searched the existing issues and found none matching what I'm reporting.

Bug Description

1. The sidebar action labels don't fit and are truncated at (no matter the size of the root window!)
2. The sidebar width is fixed, the UI doesn't allow drag
3. The description rendering is very ugly

The widgets highlighted look rather odd. Toggling high contrast in the settings app makes less a little less odd, but still visually jarring. Toggling Large Text doesn't appear to be changing anything in the UI.

I did find some closed bugs addressing some similar sounding a11y issues, but it doesn't appear they are addressing the above.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. During the Ubuntu installer, select high contrast and large text settings in accessibility
2. Launch the app center and see the UI issues

There may be some more general issues with "Large Text", in the attached screencast, I observe toggling it seems to do nothing to several desktop apps. Perhaps I'm stuck with it from installation and that's what is causing the rendering bugs? High contrast however does dynamically update the apps.

The sidebar doesn't necessarily need to be resizable, but we should ensure text always fits or wraps, also with large text, also on languages other than English. This also applies to the app descriptions.
