Revamp events section on home page

• Recreate the example
  below with placeholder graphics for the current events section on the home page
  • See if there's a nifty way to have images and text that we can easily replace and swap out in this section
• See here for example and more info under "New Ideas 4/19"
• For this and all other issues with the revamp tag, create a branch off of the branch revamp and create a PR that merges your branch into the revamp branch!
