Error with `Protect` function

The problem:

In relation to unee-t/frontend#891 we have narrowed the issue down to that apienroll codebase.

Based on this error message, the issue seems to be somewhere here.

This file is accessible in the WIP Branch that we are using for the PR #5.

Since the above log message doesn't help.
