Hello sir, My name is Pratishtha, and I'm an undergraduate student in B.Tech CS with a strong interest in Python and open-source development. I recently came across the Open World Holidays Framework project listed under the Python Software Foundation for Google Summer of Code 2025, and I found it really fascinating—especially its potential for building culturally inclusive and modular holiday data frameworks.

We’re excited to share that 2 proposals have been accepted for the Open World Holidays Framework as part of Google Summer of Code 2025.

With an overall acceptance rate of around 8% this year, we’re proud to see the project grow through these focused efforts on expanding global holiday data coverage:

• Enhancing Country Support by Adding 12 New Countries (Batch 1) by Prateekshit Jaiswal
  Prateekshit will be working on integrating 12 new countries into the framework, contributing to our mission of making holiday data more inclusive and globally representative.

• Improve Supported Countries (Batch 2) by Kriti Birda
  Kriti will continue the expansion by adding support for additional countries and strengthening the structure and quality of existing holiday datasets.
