Interest in testing real SB16?

Hello,

i recently found this project and noticed that SB16-support is only tested on QEMU.
Did no one test it on real hardware?
I'd kindly offer this, because i have plenty of old hardware laying around.
It surely would take some days, because time is limited currently, but i'd be happy to test and report back when i finished it.

Or did someone already test it and found it not working on real hw?

it is very kind of you to offer help with real-hardware testing. However, seriously supporting sb16 on Tilck is completely out of the scope for this project. I've written that code "just for fun", knowing that I don't have an old PC with sb16, but I don't care if it doesn't work on real hardware (which is an exception compared to anything else in Tilck!). I just wanted to try writing the simplest audio driver possible, for fun, not as a feature of the project. I'm considering even removing that code, if it puts the project under a bad light.

Old PCs require plenty of extra work and I'd need to have the HW myself to do that. Anything older than i686 is not supported and it's out of scope. See: #84 (reply in thread)

Besides that, unrelated with project's roadmap, I'm struggling to find the time and the energy to work even 2h on this project per week, due to the workload of my full-time job and other personal things. Even reviewing pull requests feels too much, at the moment.

In summary, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but for the foreseeable future, I'm not interested in spending any time about this :-(

i'm not disappointed as i can totally understand your reasons! Time is valuable and we all have our daily business.
Just wanted to offer you some help as i stumbled over the project and found it quite interesting.

If you want to test something on real hardware and i find some time, you can contact me any time later.

When i find some time i will test your it anyway and report back - out of curiosity for myself. Can't say when though. Currently, my own schedule is crowded, because of the same reasons as you mentioned.
