Is it possible to turn on the high - contrast mode when testing WCAG SC 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)? When we were testing mobile phone apps, the manufacturer informed us that it is very difficult to design a mobile phone to meet Success Criterion (SC) 1.4.3 without turning on assistive technologies such as high contrast mode. In this situation, When testing SC 1.4.3 for the APP in the mobile phone, is it also necessary to turn off the high - contrast mode?

Draft answer for consideration:

Yes, if and only if (1) the phone OS has a preference setting for high contrast, and (2) your app queries the OS for this detail (and invokes the corresponding behavior).

@maryjom or @ChrisLoiselle is there a way to convert this Issue to a Discussion? I am not finding that option. I am not sure this is on-topic for the WCAG2ICT TF since I don't see this as something for the Note update.

@bruce-usab I transferred this just now to WCAG's tracker as it seemed more in line with their issue tracker. I do not see a way to change the issue to a discussion. If the filer wants to open up the discussion, that may be an alternative place within WCAG's repo to move it forward. Perhaps @rachaelbradley or someone else within AGWG can assist on that? @rachaelbradley , could you let us know what you (or chairs) would recommend? Thanks!
