Seems like there's another discussion about a similar question using iPad Pro and Mac mini M4, which should be the same for iPad Air 13" (M2) and Mac mini M2 Pro: #3738 |

Hi everyone,
First, thanks @waydabber for making this great app; being able to set my Macbook Air's screen aspect ratio to 16:9 for recording 16:9 screen captures is exactly what I needed for my video tutorials, and it's wonderful that it's available in the free version.
To the subject: I've just purchased the Pro version in order to be able to set a virtual "dummy" display in different resolutions, mainly because I wish to use my iPad Air 13" (M2) as the primary display for my new Mac mini (2023) M2 Pro in Sidecar mode (which currently works with a physical monitor that is connected to the HDMI port in a "mirrored" setup, though it only works if it is turned on). I originally thought about buying a dummy HDMI adapter, but then read that I could achieve the same thing with BetterDisplay, plus it includes many other benefits which is why I decided to go with it.
I'm not home yet to check if and how this works, so I wish to ask in advanced if I could create a virtual "dummy" display in my iPad Air 13" resolution as the main display of my Mac mini, to set up Sidecar to mirror it with my iPad, and then to disconnect the physical HDMI monitor and to have my Mac mini think that this "dummy" display is the main monitor, to keep Sidecar active. Of course, I'd need to see a signal on my iPad to control my Mac mini when it restarts, so I wish to ask if I could set Sidecar to launch and mirror with the "dummy" display automatically after boot.
Thanks
