Problems with installation and solution

Hi,

Thanks for the program! I tried to install and run the package in Stata/SE 16.1 for Windows (64-bitx86-64). I have installed the package using:
net inst strutil, from("http://wbuchanan.github.io/StataStringUtilities/")

It has problems initially and I have tried to add adopath, but until I did the following the program start to run:

copy and paste "StataJavaUtilities.jar" to C:\ado\plus/StataJavaUtilities.jar

I hope this information will be helpful to others!

You shouldn't have had to move it into that specific directory. I'm not at my computer at the moment, but I'm pretty sure there should be a Java related sub directory within the personal and plus directories. Also, the message I see here now is very different from the message that I received via email from GitHub. The issue I saw in the email, related to a reflection method invocation, is typically caused by users not having the Java binary for StataJavaUtilities on their classpath. StataJavaUtilities is a separate library I developed that all of my Java related programs have as a dependency.

Hi William, Thanks for your reply! I have managed to make it work, thus the updated message on GitHub. Initially, I tried to add adopath in various forms, it always returned with error. Then, I pasted StataJavaUtilities.jar file to "C:\ado\plus/" folder, and the program started working. Thanks for developing this amazing program! Best, Henry
