Its hard to see where variables are defined at the moment. We need to mark the tree item in some way to see at a glance, maybe using an icon on the right, next to the eye.

Quesiton is if this should apply only to data variables or also css variables. Maybe we could come up with something compact that can mark both, similar to the dots in the style panel.
