Tree View: disable it?

Is there not a way to disable Tree View and just have column A-Z sorting?

Ever tried to sort on column "name" (click on its header)? There are several sorting ways, and only one shows treeview.

Yes, that's exactly what I am trying to avoid. Unnecessary, constant mouse clicks and the mix-up of sorting (an age-old click-on-column convention) with "views". Treeview isn't really about sorting, is it?

Don't get me wrong, I understand its usefulness and this behaviour isn't exclusive to System Informer.

However, it still feels out of place there and its presence is dominant on all columns, not only "Name". It makes frequent sorting a nightmare (so to speak) if not interested in Treeview. Things would be much simpler if there was a way to globally disable/enable it. Easier said than done, I imagine...
