LocalTuya Version

2024.12.1

Home Assistant Version

2025.1.0

Environment

  • Does the device work using the Home Assistant Tuya Cloud component?
  • Is this device connected to another local integration, including Home Assistant and any other tools?
  • The devices are within the same HA subnet, and they get discovered automatically when I add them

What happened?

My Tuya devices are flooding my network.

Each Tuya device is making a DNS request every second, even though they are completely blocked from internet access in my FritzBox router, and all connections are restricted.

Is it possible that this is blocked via the Local Tuya integration? I've only had this since I switched to the fork. It could also be a coincidence, but I'm noticing it very strongly right now. As a result, the Pihole simply stops working after a while.

Steps to reproduce.

Using HomeAssistant with Local Tuya normally

Relevant log output

No response

Diagnostics information.

Approximately one DNS request per second from a Tuya device

Do you also see an abnormal increase in the data saved in the database?

Is this requests are being sent from devices or integration? I'll look into this more.

Do you also see an abnormal increase in the data saved in the database?

You will see yes it's not abnormal because in this fork there is an events that can be used to automate reported status, currently if there is a sensor like temperature who updated status every one seconds could lead to massive data in db #372

If this still an issue even after next update then re-open tho not sure if it's related to be fair but if this was noticed after using this then yeah.
