LocalTuya Version

2025.2.0

Home Assistant Version

2025.2.4

Environment

  • Does the device work using the Home Assistant Tuya Cloud component?
  • Is this device connected to another local integration, including Home Assistant and any other tools?
  • The devices are within the same HA subnet, and they get discovered automatically when I add them

What happened?

I have a curtain entity that SOMETIMES works through LocalTuya, but sometimes it doesn't. It always works through either Tuya_Xtend or of course Smart Life. The IP address is static. (When it doesn't work, pressing the button to open or close the curtains just doesn't do anything at all. Home Assistant is acting like it is opening or closing the item, but the motors never engage. As far as I can tell nothing changes on the device properties queried through the Tuya API Explorer.

Steps to reproduce.

Open Cover entity in Home Assistant, and either Open or Close it.

Relevant log output

Your device does have DPS for setting position and read current position why you set the position mode to timed instead of position?

It was initially setup to use the position mode, but that didn't work at all. And when I first configured it in the Smart Life app, I had to run through a start and stop program to calibrate the curtains - I'm guessing that the Smart Life app also uses timed mode.

Does the curtain in tuya app have "set position" option? because I as say from device status it does have DP for setting the position. Timed is hard coded mode in localtuya that calculate interval span time and use it to know current position or when it does stop/open however it's not reliable as position mode that's built in device.

Enable the debug for both device and integration and when the bug happen copy all logs here.
