Description
Describe the problem
Starting with some newer version (21.3.4?), seeking in YouTube videos has become incredibly slow for me. Until very recently, I could revert to 21.3.3.something (IIRC), which did not exhibit that problem for me.
Meanwhile, I've updated my dev build of Kodi, and the oldest version available there is 22.3.4.2, which already exhibits the problematic behavior for me.
Possible fix
No response
Steps to reproduce
- Use
plugin.video.youtube(I have7.4.0+beta.3installed) to play any (non-live) video, e.g. https://youtu.be/Yw6K08QCh9Y - Seek to any time point, e.g. 00:22:00
- observe a tens-of-seconds to minutes-long delay
Debug log
paste.kodi.tv gives me a "something went wrong" error (too large? something to do with the kodi server maintenance/mirrors being down?), so... ah, here it fits: kodi.log

Additional info
It seems that those newer versions of inputstream.adaptive download basically segments from the whole length of the video to figure out where to seek to each and every time a seek is requested.
