Any way to use proxy?

My kodi system is 6.12.25+rpt-rpi-v8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.12.25-1+rpt1 (2025-04-30) aarch64 GNU/Linux / Kodi (20.5 (20.5.0) Git:20240501-8c8d7afa26). Platform: Linux ARM 64-bit

What I tried:

1) export http_proxy=http://192.168.1.111:8888 export https_proxy=http://192.168.1.111:8888
2) set proxy in kodi settings
3) set proxy in inputstream.ffmpegdirect settings

and none of this works, just no connection via proxy... any ideas on how to make proxy work in kodi for iptv hls streams?

on windows VLC player proxy works fine, it works everywhere except kodi

It should work ok. Did you build the addons yourself?

Another user had similar issues. But in my own testing the feature is working but I don’t use Linux.

kodi-inputstream-ffmpegdirect/stable,now 20.5.1-4~bookworm arm64 [installed]

It seems that this addon ignores any proxy settings.

export http_proxy env works in console with cmd like curl and wget, but not in kodi.

I’m not surprised environment variables don’t work as kodi is multi platform.

Can you supply a full debug log?

At least then we can confirm the exact issue and start to debug it.
