When I define an identity as a key, it is better to prompt the user for the username at the time of SSH login and only ask for the key from that location, as we might use the same public key for different users.

That is quite challenging to implement with the current system as it expects usernames to be fixed. How many users share the same key for you? If it's only a few, you can just clone the identity in the right-click menu. If it's more than that, I will have to think about something else
