Font Size – Buffer, UI, Font sizes not matching

Starting this discussion as a place to merge the various font size issues into.

Zed uses a scale of sizes for the UI that are scaled based on the ui_font_size. This should likely be renamed for ui_scale for clarity, however for now I'll collect these issues here so folks have a place to discuss.

There is no concept of size, only scaling, so what is the base? , if one wants different software to have the same font size, then how does the user calculate this scaling value? If it's scaling only, then the user loses the permission to have bigger or smaller fonts while keeping the existing ui density?
