Collect EXIF info from file/photos

When uploading a photo file, EXIF info could be used to prefill some fields , in particular the latitude and longitude into fields:
custom:dwc: decimalLatitude
custom:dwc: decimalLongitude

Would this be possible?

I understand that dwc is related to biodiversity, but can the coordinates be more generic?
