Equivalent of ripgrep's -M switch?

Does ugrep have an equivalent to ripgrep's -M switch? (from https://github.com/BurntSushi/ripgrep/blob/master/GUIDE.m: "-M/--max-columns: Limit the length of lines printed by ripgrep.")

Is this suitable?

--width[=NUM]
       Truncate  the  output  to  NUM visible characters per line.
       The width of the terminal window is used if NUM is not specified.
       Note that double-width characters in the output may result in wider lines.

Thank you! It behaves differently. For one thing it prints the first NUM visible characters, so whether the matched characters/expression is included in what's printed depends on where they/it are in the line. I had in mind use-cases, by the way, in which I only want to see hits in lines shorter than a certain line-length. So this would be also satisfied by telling ugrep not to search lines longer than the specified NUM.
