Player Transfers

In some scenarios, some players should be able to "go" to specific other viewports on their own accord = without being reassigned by a trainer.

Players should be able to click somewhere, choose among (linked) targets, be moved to a waiting screen and then after the waiting time come out in the new viewport.

This system could be integrated with the "transfer overview".

One possibility for this would be to allow trainers to set for each transfer between transfer points whether it can be used by vehicles, personnel, and/or participants. Participants could then click the transfer point and get the same menu as when transferring vehicles and personnel.

We also though about integrating this feature with the existing transfer points, but this has the drawback of ambiguity if a transfer point is part of either no or multiple viewports.

To resolve this, I had the idea to add these connections directly to the settings of viewports. And as there is no need for any spatial elements (for vehicles, we need transfer points on the map to (1) have some point where to move a vehicle to transfer ist and (2) have some point where vehicles are placed on the map once they arrived), players could navigate between viewports by a button added to the map controls (zoom in/out, … buttons at the top left.

Of course, this would be a new concept for participants to understand, but this might even be helpful to prevent accidentally transferring yourself instead of a vehicle.

We could also add a "player character" where one personnel or vehicle specifically represents one player and the player can then move "herself/himself" to a transfer point.

I'm pretty sure we discussed this in the early stages of the development and rejected it for the more generic approach. It would turn FüSim into a different kind of simulation game, which on the one hand breaks the current concept, but on the other hand might actually enable new kinds of exercises.

However, for now (and with regard to the specific customer feature request that I orignally wanted to represent here) I prefer lukas' proposal!
