Proposal: Switch ‘Recently Added’ Default to Library Scan Date

Hey everyone,

I’d like to take a crack at improving our “Recently Added” behavior in the frontend. Right now (for me at least) it uses the file’s creation timestamp by default, which can make genuinely new imports get buried or old files look new when they’re just moved around. Users on Reddit directed me to the "Date added behaviour for new content" in Settings > Libraries > Display where I could switch to "Use date scanned into..." rather than "Use file creation date", but I feel with the UI using the string "Recently Added" the default should be scanned into, not created.

If the community agrees this is valuable, I’m happy to jump in and create a PR.

Specifically, I’d love feedback on which approach folks prefer:

• Switch the default to use “date scanned” (i.e. import timestamp) instead of file creation date
• Add clearer labeling in the UI (e.g. “File Creation Date” vs. “Date Added”)

Let me know which option (or combination) makes the most sense, and I’ll have a go at making the change.
