How to disable checking 100% complete and paused torrents during the start qBittorrent v4.6.7.10 (64-bit)

qbittorrent 4.5.5 (Official Version) & 4.6.7 (Enhanced Version) give all 3 hard drives a 10 minute hell of checking files, even torrents that are stopped:

This is not a sum hash check, but something else (maybe attributes, maybe folder weights). For 10 minutes the disks crunch, the system case knocks, and before that there is a loading bar for qbittorrent itself for several minutes. It is not clear why this is done. This bug may have been fixed in newer versions, but they will not run on the old windows.

For comparison, added 200 torrents to utorrent 1.8.2 rehashed, closed, launched again and torrents immediately ready for upload.

But using even the latest version of utorrent is not an option, there are jambs and flaws. For example, when adding new torrents, it offers to load it to the system disk. This is strange, because 1.8.2 remembers the place of the last download. Also, in utorrent, when selecting torrents, it is impossible, as in qbittorrent, to specify a new directory for them, you must specify each one personally.

I’m observing the same behavior on version 5.1.2: when the program starts, it reads the sizes of all files in all torrents. If the total number of files and torrents is relatively small, the whole process takes just a couple of seconds. But the more files there are to check, the worse it gets.

According to procmon, the file size checks are initiated by libtorrent.

This is apparently a known issue that won't be fixed, as I understand it: Don't check files when restoring torrents
