Please just implement an ASCII art mode for gopher(maps/menus)

The fancy rendering and manipulation of text when viewing gopherspace can misrepresent the intended ASCII art/monospace layout of a gophermap (menu).

It would be amazing to have a toggle button to just go from like a more... markdown-reader-mode for gopher menus (even text files) to ASCII art mode (render it how a TUI would, basically).

Complications are I keep finding ways, I think, that markdown type stuff gets stylized, or maybe some display text gets stripped, etc.
