I don't have any issue with adding features like this. Since I am not using it right now, I can't tell you when I would add this feature.
If you want to, feel free to create a pull request.
If i see it right, the major benefit of having a SWAP partition is to be able to "suspend-to-disk"? I must admit, the sleep mode is good enough for me for years (just to mention, no to judge).
