I would like to add an icon to the indicator panel like a sun or a coffee mug to remember the user that the screen won't go idle. How I could do that?

At this point I'd recommend finishing this up and working on the improvement in the form of the second icon in another PR.

As to how to do that, you can take a look at the network indicator, it can display multiple icons - https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/lomiri-indicator-network though you won't be able to reuse code since that one is Qt/C++
