Introduction to MCGalaxy

Welcome to the MCGalaxy. If you are trying to setup a server, see the README first.

Using Commands

Most everything that can be done in MCGalaxy is done through chat commands. To use a command, open chat and type "/" followed by the command's name and arguments. For instance, /me is using a command!

The most important command: /help

Every command in MCGalaxy comes with an explanation of how it's used.

To see the explanation for a command, type /help [command]. You will see something like this:

• When you see [word] surrounded by square brackets in help, that means it's a required argument for the command.
• When you see <word> surrounded by angled brackets in help, that means it's an optional argument for the command.

You do not have to type the brackets. For instance, /museum main 4 to visit the 4th backup of main, or /museum 4 to visit the 4th backup of the level you are currently in.

It cannot be stressed enough how important /help is. Even if you think you already know how a command works, there may be very useful features you are missing if you skip reading the help.

Essential basic commands

• Go to other players: /tp or /tpa (tpa requests a teleport)
• Go to other levels: /goto
• Create other levels: /newlvl (see the Creating levels page)
