An adhoc group initiated by ISO/TC 211 investigated whether and how documentation can be produced from UML models. The scope did not explicitly state which models, but during the work we focused on the UML models in the ISO/TC 211 harmonised models, This is a repository of the UML models that are part of the ISO/TC 211 standards.

However, the documentation tools should be applicable for any UML model modelled according to ISO 19103, regardless of their inclusion in the harmonized model.

Automatic generation of documentation of UML models would also be useful for UML application schemas at global, regional and local (national) level.
