For the most part this is pretty straight forward... but just incase
- Download the most recent add-on .zip file from the latest releases.
- Remove any previous versions of Mr Mannequins Tools. (Removal not always needed but better safe than sorry)
- Installing an add-on to Blender is as simple as Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Install > Navigate to the .zip file > Install Add-on.
- If you want to clone and work with the repo locally you will need to extract any/all resources folders and their contents from the .zip files and then paste them into your local repo.
I'll add an instructional video and images here when i get the time.
Just watch the Video in 2k or 4k for the best transcoding quality from YouTube!
(Until i have the time to get this written up properly lol)
- Load a template and do your creative things with it.
- In object mode select any meshes and/or armatures with animation you want to export.
- Go to File > Export > Mr Mannequins FBX and open the export operator.
- Define the filepaths where you want the meshes and animations exported.
- Fiddle with your export settings (leave the advanced settings alone if you don't know what they do).
- Hit "Ok", load up Unreal Engine and import! (If you are importing meshes you may want to check that unreals fbx importer is importing normals)
insert .gif here
- In edit mode add your custom bone and call it whatever you want and parent/orient it as needed for animation.
- Ensure it is selected and register it with the deformation controls by clicking the add deforms button using the "Only Selected" option.
- With deforms not hidden select the newly created deform bone and make sure it is parented and oriented where you want it in the deformation hierarchy.
(Only the deformation hierarchy gets exported)
