Like the recommendation from @CvH mark hyperion as broken so the user get informed the addon is discontinued since May 19, 2020.

Wait with this until hyperion-ng is actually available in the repo. IIRC there are still issues building hyperion-ng for x86 and so far hyperion still seems to be working fine

Hyperion-ng is not building for generic (PR #4673) and does not support the current linux graphic stack for all our arm devices (just V4L).

Hyperion (classic) works at least at generic, I won't mind replacing classic with ng asap but its currently not a option.

I am not up to date with the current status but it looks like broken:

Hyperion.NG is used since almost 2 years now on CoreELEC, but for sure it uses another grabber.

The grabber is indeed the problem - neither original hyperion nor ng work on RPi (and AML, AW, RK, ...) with gbm/drmprime rendering as it's missing a grabber.

The reason we kept original hyperion is because it still seems to be working fine with V4L2 (USB etc) hdmi grabbers and X11 grabber - haven't tested either myself though.

- Hyperion Add-on no longer works
No solution for now, Hyperion doesn’t support the new graphics driver stack yet

still true, compiling QT is sadly a pain in the butt so Hyperion.NG still does not properly compile for all platforms - this would at least allow that Hyperion.NG is half broken instead of Hyperion Legacy
