I am currently pursuing a PhD in Physics and Earth Sciences at the Institute for Earth System Science and Remote Sensing in Leipzig University, Germany, and Valencia, Spain, as a member of the ELLIS PhD program. I am currently focusing on the application of machine learning in Earth systems under the supervision of Prof. Miguel D. Mahecha and Dr. Karin Mora. My research is kindly funded by the Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (ScaDS.AI).
In September I will start a position as visiting researcher (independent postdoc) at the Max Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden. My research will look into how deep learning models can model chaotic dynamics.
I love writing software and providing open source implementations of research papers. My contributions rank from fully fledged libraries to one-off implementations. I am the creator and main developer of the following packages:
- ReservoirComputing.jl
- torchrecurrent
- RecurrentLayers.jl
- LuxRecurrentLayers.jl
- SpectralIndices.jl
- CellularAutomata.jl
Additional non registered implementations include deep learning (Flux.jl) models like NBeats.
