ToggleSneak v3.1.1 - Some Bugs Fixed!!

This is a BETA release. There may be issues. See note below

The Mod - ToggleSneak v3.1.1

The Source - ToggleSneak-SOURCE v3.1.1

Requires PlayerAPI, which can be downloaded from this thread

What's New:

  • Now built against Forge 11.14.0.1299 (but should be compatible with 1281 so you can use OptiFine).
  • Fixed a bug where the Options Sliders were not working properly
  • Moved the TS Options button up to not conflict with Skin Customization button
  • New option to move the ToggleSneak options button in case of conflicts
  • See the changelogs for previous versions: v3.1.0, v3.0.5, v3.0 and v2.4

Other Notes:

  • Since this is the second release of ToggleSneak for Minecraft 1.8, I'm still considering this a BETA release for now. No bugs were reported in the first release as far as the core sneaking and sprinting, but I want to be cautious since this is a new Minecraft version, and Forge itself is still in Beta and is subject to change. Everything SHOULD be OK, but if you update Forge, I'd recommend testing ToggleSneak on a practice server to make sure nothing broke.
  • Remember, you can access the ToggleSneak Options from the Main Menu by clicking the 'Mods' button, selecting 'ToggleSneak' on the left side of the screen, then clicking the 'Config' button. Useful if you need to change the positioning of the ToggleSneak Options button if another mod's button is in the same place.
  • Please report ANY issues in this thread. I will try to address them ASAP - with the goal being a stable release by SotW tomorrow.
  • Not gonna lie, it's been a while since I put together a release so I could have left something out. Let me know if you see any issues!
  • Remember - You have to unzip the PlayerAPI .zip file you download and then put the PlayerAPI-1.8-1.0.jar file into the mods folder.
  • If you have any suggestions for new features, bug fixes or general improvements, let me know!
  • Make sure you remove the old version of the ToggleSneak .jar from your mods folder before running the new one.

ToggleSneak v3.1.0 - It's Finally Here!!

This is a BETA release. There may be issues. See note below

The Mod - ToggleSneak v3.1.0

The Source - ToggleSneak-SOURCE v3.1.0

Requires PlayerAPI, which can be downloaded from this thread

What's New:

  • Updated to Minecraft 1.8 - Now built against Forge 11.14.0.1290 and PlayerAPI-1.8-1.0.
  • See the changelogs for previous versions: v3.0.5, v3.0 and v2.4

Other Notes:

  • This is the first release of ToggleSneak for Minecraft 1.8. As such, it is considered a BETA release. It is recommended that you test it on a practice server to make sure everything works as expected before using it somewhere it really counts. I don't expect any issues, but I was not able to test this version as thoroughly as I normally do because the computer I am now using can barely run Minecraft.

ToggleSneak v3.0.5 - The highest version number yet!

The Mod - ToggleSneak v3.0.5

The Source - ToggleSneak-SOURCE v3.0.5

Requires PlayerAPI, which can be downloaded from this thread

What's New:

  • Updated to Minecraft 1.7.10 - Now built against Forge v10.13.2.1240 and PlayerAPI v1.7.10-1.0.
  • Options Button Has Moved - The ToggleSneak Options button is now on the LEFT side of the Options Menu. (The new Twitch Settings button made me do it!)
  • Fixed a crash while setting Fly Boost Amount in certain localizations. Now people who use commas instead of decimals can have their fun too!
  • I feel like I'm forgetting something. It probably wasn't important, though.
  • See the changelogs for previous versions: v3.0 and v2.4

Other Notes:

  • Not gonna lie, it's been a while since I put together a release so I could have left something out. Let me know if you see any issues!
  • There will be a 1.8 release when PlayerAPI has finished updating for that version. It shouldn't be too long now..
  • Remember - You have to unzip the PlayerAPI .zip file you download and then put the PlayerAPI-1.7.10-1.0.jar file into the mods folder.
  • If you have any suggestions for new features, bug fixes or general improvements, let me know!
  • Make sure you remove the old version of the ToggleSneak .jar from your mods folder before running the new one.

I think that's everything, but as always, if you have any questions, problems or suggestions, definitely let me know!

ToggleSneak v3.0 for Forge!

EDIT - 06/20/2014 - ToggleSneak v3.0.1 has been released to fix a bug that affected version 3.0. Read the section below for more information and updated download links.

ToggleSneak v3.0 was affected by a minor - but potentially annoying - bug that prevents the player-selected position of the HUD from being saved and/or loaded by the mod. You can still reposition the HUD anywhere you like, but when you close Minecraft, the changes will be lost - even if you clicked 'Save'.

This problem has been fixed in version 3.0.1, which can be downloaded using the links below.

ToggleSneak v3.0.1 - Now with GUI goodness!

The Mod - ToggleSneak v3.0.1

The Source - ToggleSneak-SOURCE v3.0.1

Requires PlayerAPI, which can be downloaded from this thread

What's New:

  • Options GUI! You can now access all of the mod's options from inside the game - no need to edit a text file and restart Minecraft!

  • Repositioning the HUD! I finally added the ability to allow you to move the HUD anywhere on the screen. Use the sliders for Horizontal and Vertical HUD Locations in the options screen to move the text wherever you want. If you are in-game the text moves as soon as you move the slider to make the process easier.

  • Sneak Toggling is now optional and can be disabled in the Options screen.

  • The game will now refuse to start if PlayerAPI is not properly installed in the mods folder. It will now show a message saying that PlayerAPI is missing rather than just crashing. Hopefully that will make it easier for people to figure out what went wrong.

  • ToggleSneak is now built against version 1.4 of the PlayerAPI. In my testing, older versions of the API still worked - but if you run into any issues, try downloading the latest version from the thread linked at the top of this post.

  • There are two ways to access the Options screen:

    (1) From the Main Menu, click 'Mods' to open the Mod List Screen. Highlight ToggleSneak in the list on the left side of the screen and then click 'Config'.

    (2) From inside the game, bring up the Game Menu (press Escape) and then click 'Options'. On the next screen, click 'ToggleSneak Options'.

  • See the changelogs for previous versions: v2.3, v2.2 and v2.0

Other Notes:

  • I'm still considering this a bit of a beta release. I don't believe there to be any issues, but definitely let me know if you encounter any.
  • If you have any suggestions for new features, bug fixes or general improvements, let me know!
  • Make sure you remove the old version of the ToggleSneak .jar from your mods folder before running the new one.
  • A special thank you to Debrief for pointing out the fact that starting to sprint while jumping did not act the same as vanilla - and helping test the fix!
  • It looks like you guys are stuck with me. No one got in touch with me about keeping future versions of ToggleSneak updated in my absence. So I decided I would keep working on it for the foreseeable future.

I think that's everything, but as always, if you have any questions, problems or suggestions, definitely let me know!

ToggleSneak v2.3 for Forge 1.7.2 (Beta?)

Yep - another new version. This one just adds a couple of features that were requested - no bugs had been reported in the last version so I'd consider it an optional update if you want any of these features.

The Mod

The Source

Requires PlayerAPI, which can be downloaded from this thread

What's New:

  • By request, the configuration setting, 'optionDoubleTap' now applies even when 'optionToggleSprint' is turned off.
  • Also by request, I added a fly speed booster similar to what was in BetterSprinting. It can be enabled using the configuration setting 'optionEnableFlyBoost'. The setting 'optionFlyBoostAmount' sets the multiplier (default is 4x faster than vanilla. Once enabled, hold your sprint key while flying to boost your speed. NOTE: To prevent it from being abused on servers with a /fly command, this only works while in creative mode.
  • See the changelogs for previous versions: v2.2 and v2.0

Other Notes:

  • I'm still considering this a bit of a beta release. I don't believe there to be any issues, but definitely let me know if you encounter any.
  • Make sure you remove the old version of the ToggleSneak .jar from your mods folder before running the new one.
  • A special thank you to Debrief for pointing out the fact that starting to sprint while jumping did not act the same as vanilla - and helping test the fix!
  • Assuming there are no bugs to fix in this version, it is likely that this will be the last version of ToggleSneak that I release. Shoot me a PM if you are interested in keeping the project updated in the future. I've always released the source to the mod, but it would probably be best if one person kept the 'official' line going rather than having a bunch of unofficial releases.

I think that's everything, but as always, if you have any questions, problems or suggestions, definitely let me know!

This is a bugfix/optimization update for the Forge version of ToggleSneak for Minecraft 1.7.2.

The Mod

The Source

Requires PlayerAPI, which can be downloaded from this thread

What's New:

  • Doubletapping the forward key (Default: 'W') will now enable vanilla sprinting (can be turned off in the config file)
  • Consolidated HUD display logic, eliminating a few display errors
  • Prevents changing of sprint status while sneaking, riding or flying
  • Releasing the sprint key after holding it now correctly emulates vanilla sprinting
  • ToggleSprint can now be completely disabled in the configuration file
  • Allow sprinting to begin while jumping to correctly mimic vanilla behavior

I finally made ToggleSneak completely Forge compatible. Just drop it in the mods folder and enjoy!

The Mod

The Source

Requires PlayerAPI, which can be downloaded from this thread.

What's new:

  • Adds Toggle Sprinting - works in the same manner as Sneak Toggling. Tap your sprint key to turn it on - holding it down for longer than a tap will make it work as it does in vanilla.
  • Displays current status - whether or not sprint or sneak is toggled. This can be turned off by editing the ToggleSneak.cfg file that will be generated in the ./minecraft/config folder. Just change optionShowHUDText=true to optionShowHUDText=false. Sorry - the option to change the positioning of where the text is displayed hasn't yet been fully implemented. For now it's just topleft or nothing.

Other Notes:

  • This is somewhat of a beta release. I don't believe there to be any issues, but please report them to me if you find any.
  • I haven't tested this mod with BetterSprint at the same time, but I doubt they would play nicely together. You shouldn't need to use both of them anyway. (Mine's better :P)
  • If you have previously installed my ToggleSneak into the Forge jar, you will need to get rid of that. (You did back up the jar before you added ToggleSneak, RIGHT?)

I think that's everything. But as always, if you have any trouble or any suggestions - just let me know!
